Dutch media have now given a worrying update on Jurrien Timber’s injury at Arsenal.
Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber may now be missing until the early stages of pre-season after the knee injury he suffered while in action for Arsenal against Nottingham Forest in the summer.
Dutch outlet AD have now given that update as the most realistic timeline when discussing Timber’s chance of making The Netherlands’ Euros squad.
The report outlined that Timber would have been an obvious choice if fit, but is now likely to miss the tournament as a whole.
Of course, there was a lot of talk among English outlets that Timber may in fact be back for the last ten or so games of the season.
Timber had surgery on his ACL following the injury he unfortunately picked up in the opening game of the season against Nottingham Forest.
And despite only playing 50 competitive minutes for Arsenal, Timber already looked like a transformative signing for Mikel Arteta.
The defender looked to combine the physical attributes of Takehiro Tomiyasu with Oleksandr Zinchenko’s play making ability.
He looked the real deal.
However, Arteta then had to drastically change his plans after the innocuous injury left Timber sidelined for months.
And it is now being understated just how much Arsenal have missed Timber.

This update, if accurate, would be a huge blow for The Gunners.
Although the likes of Tomiyasu and Zinchenko are doing a stellar job at times, Timber returning late in the season could be a big boost.
At £38m, we would perhaps be talking about the signing of the season had the Dutch international not been so unlucky.
That’s the calibre of player Arsenal thought they had recruited.
Instead, Mikel Arteta was quickly resorted to last season’s options – ones he clearly wanted to improve on.
It’s perhaps too early for anyone to know just how well or slowly Timber will recover from his injury at Arsenal, but this fresh update doesn’t bode too well.
Arsenal do have the January transfer window to address the problem if they see it necessary.
However, that would probably hinge on the departure of forgotten defender Cedric Soares.
