Tottenham star tempted to leave the club like Harry Kane amid interest from Saudi Arabian club after failing to live up to expectations like Dele Alli and Ndombele.
Richarlison is thought to be a target for Saudi Arabian outfits in January, and it’s now believed the Tottenham man could be willing to make that move if given the chance.
It’s been a difficult 18 months for Richarlison since his big-money move from Everton to Spurs.
After struggling for form and fitness last season, the Brazilian ended the 2022/23 campaign with just three goals, and only one of those came in the Premier League (Transfermarkt).
The 26-year-old has two goals so far this term (Transfermarkt) but was quickly replaced in the centre-forward role by his captain Heung-min Son, who has been in fine form this season.
Richarlison’s issues have continued of late, with the attacker dropped from the Brazil squad. He’s now recovering from surgery on a pelvis injury (ESPN).
Will Spurs sell Richarlison?
Despite Ange Postecoglou‘s insistence that he has faith in Richarlison, there is increased speculation that the forward could be moved on if a suitable offer came in for him. Now, UOL journalist Rafael Reis has claimed the player himself may be interested in a switch.
Apparently, Richarlison is seen as a “main target” for Saudi sides in the upcoming transfer window.
It is thought Richarlison is not particularly “attached” to Tottenham given his current situation, and that he would be “willing to accept an offer” to leave Spurs now.
This all stems from the fact that Richarlison reportedly “doesn’t see many chances” of his current plight improving in the “coming months.”
I’ve always said we should stick by Richarlison, and I stand by that for now. But it is getting harder and harder to deny that if a club was to make a big offer for him, the best thing to do would be to take the money and move on. If we can recoup our losses, it could be the right thing to do for all parties.
