BAD NEWS – Nightmare Situation for Enzo Maresca as Leicester City key player ruled out of crucial West Brom clash after missing Friday training

December 1, 2023

Enzo Maresca has revealed Leicester City’s team news ahead of a tough match at the Hawthorns against in-form outfit West Brom.

Centre-back Wout Faes was substituted at half-time against Sheffield Wednesday due to a dead leg and swelling and is expected to miss Leicester’s trip to West Brom. Callum Doyle also remains sidelined.

Maresca was adamant that the rest of his squad are “okay”, with the rest of his players to choose from ahead of a tricky challenge against one of the most in-form teams in the division.

“We had a session this morning and he didn’t work with us,” Maresca stated when asked about Faes, reported by the Leicester Mercury on Friday (1 November, 1:32pm).

Running with the Foxes:

Recent form would suggest that West Brom have a good chance of beating the league leaders on Saturday, with five wins in their last six matches.

November was a difficult month for Leicester. Losing their second and third games of the league season to Leeds United and Middlesbrough has helped the other teams below catch up.

While West Brom are fourth in the league based on home form, Maresca’s men are the best team in the division away from home, scoring 19 of their 32 goals away from the King Power Stadium.

The Baggies, who sit in fifth, are only 10 points behind Ipswich Town and 11 behind the Foxes despite a difficult start to the season. However, Leeds, Southampton and Hull City are all within range.

The visitor’s squad is stacked following their relegation from the Premier League, so it is expected to see them at the top of the pile. But a victory for West Brom would open up the Championship top spots completely.
