Ange Postecoglou will be looking for Tottenham team to end a string of five matches without a victory when they host Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Spurs have lost three home games in a row and have not won in their last five Premier League matches, having held a 1-0 lead in all of those encounters. Pape Matar Sarr and Richarlison both got minutes off the bench in the 2-1 defeat to West Ham on Thursday night and the duo will be hoping for more game time against Newcastle.

James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, Rodrigo Bentancur, Ivan Perisic, Manor Solomon, Ryan Sessegnon, Eric Dier and Alfie Whiteman all remain out with long-term injuries. Son Heung-min also limped off the pitch before the end of the derby and Postecoglou was set to see how the Tottenham captain reacted in the sessions ahead of the game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg had earned a start after his performance in the second half against Manchester City but he struggled to provide quality in and around the opposition box and that could allow Sarr to come in if he is deemed fit enough to start a match following his recovery from a hamstring problem.

In the attacking trio Brennan Johnson or Dejan Kulusevski both were unable to make an impact against the Hammers and that could hand Richarlison a chance to make his first start since October or Bryan Gil could come back in on the left with Kulusevski moving into a deeper position.
