BREAKING – Leicester City could anger Brendan Rodgers as club set to break the bank with record fee to bring in Enzo Maresca’s Top target to the club in bid to strengthen the team ahead of their PL potential return

Leicester City are reportedly interested in signing Matt O’Riley in next month’s January transfer window.

The Celtic star was highly sought after last summer and several clubs were interested in him, including Leeds, who were competing in the Championship.

However, the transfer did not materialise, but the interest has not disappeared, with Leeds, Newcastle and now Leicester City all expected to transfer in the January transfer window, according to Team Talk.

O’Riley has only just signed a new contract and Celtic are expected to pay £25 million for the 23-year-old.

If sold, this would be a record sum in the Scottish Championship, matching the fee Arsenal paid for Kieran Tierney in August 2019.

As both Leeds and Leicester are currently struggling in the Championship, the high price could lead to either club being knocked out of the Premier League.

If neither side is able to conclude a deal for the creative centre-forward next month, both sides will reportedly wait with the hope of signing O’Riley in the summer transfer window.

However, with clubs such as Newcastle interested in the Danish international, he could be gone by then.
