Ange Postecoglou has only been at Tottenham for two minutes and is already being linked with another job.
There are now rumours that Postecoglou could end up at Manchester City, and over the weekend Gary Neville also added fuel to the fire.
Michael Bridges discussed these links on the Optus Sport Football Podcast and says that as a Spurs fan, he is disappointed to hear that Postecoglou may be flirting with City.
Bridges lamented that they were looking at Ange:
Bridges was responding to the suggestion that Postecoglou is on City’s radar.
“I mentioned three weeks ago that Ange Postecoglou had reportedly fallen under the eye of the City team, and now Gary Neville has published these quotes and it’s gaining traction, anyone who links Ange to Man City would be extremely happy, but as a Spurs man I’m disappointed,” Bridges said.
“Gary Neville said that, which got a big reaction in the UK, and I’m sure Ange would have been delighted with that, but he always likes to finish his projects and his project is Spurs.”
It’s bound to happen:
Although we don’t want to say it, it was always bound to happen.
Postecoglou plays an incredible style of football that has delighted every fan in the country, and now the top clubs will take notice.
Unfortunately Tottenham are still not on the same level as the City of this world, and if the Premier League champions really think Postecoglou is the answer after Pep, it might not be too difficult for City to go to north London and catch Postecoglou.
Of course, Pep Guardiola won’t be leaving City any time soon and a lot can change between now and then, but Spurs fans should perhaps remember this.
