Leeds United midfielder Ethan Ampadu has warned Leicester City and Ipswich Town that it is too early in the season to worry too much about the gap they have to the Whites.
As the halfway point of the season approaches, a ten-point gap has opened up between third-placed Leeds United and second-placed Ipswich, while Leicester have a 13-point advantage.
Many believe that Ipswich and Leicester are showing no signs of slowing down, while Leeds will have to settle for a play-off place despite their good form.
Ampadu, however, does not want to pay too much attention to what is being said and insists that Leeds are confident.
He stressed that, despite the setback, there are still many games to go and the end of the season is not near.
“I think we all find it [silencing all the noise] quite easy,” Ampadu told BBC Radio Leeds.
“The end of the season hasn’t come yet, I know that’s very easy to say.
“They have a little bit of a gap but it’s not the end of the season, there are still a lot of games, a lot of minutes to be played.
“We have confidence in ourselves.
“But to achieve that, you have to take each game as it is and make sure that the next 90 minutes are the best 90 minutes of the season.”
Leeds, who have picked up just a point from their last two league games, will be away at Ipswich at the weekend.
