Arsenal legend makes Liverpool Vs Arsenal Score Predictions, as he tells Mikel Arteta how many goals Liverpool will score past David Raya on Sunday

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright believes the Gunners will win against Liverpool on Saturday.

The Reds host Mikel Arteta’s side in a duel at the top of the Premier League standings, with a chance to stay top for Christmas on the line.

Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz helped the north London club overtake Liverpool last weekend as their goals were crucial in a 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion. Liverpool failed to recover top spot after failing to beat Manchester United at Anfield.

On Merseyside, there will be another bloody and heated clash between the two clubs. Last season, Jurgen Klopp’s men came from behind to snatch a draw against Arsenal and trigger a slump in form which helped Manchester City to reduce the arrears and become champions.

Wright is confident that Arsenal will still be remembered for the scars of the previous encounter, which will provide extra motivation for the clash and will be an advantage.

“I think Arsenal will win – they have to,” he said on the Stick to Football podcast. “What happened last season [against Liverpool], when the wheels started to wobble a little bit, must mean something to this team going to Anfield. I predict a 2-1 Arsenal win.

“It would be an incredible title for Arsenal. I just want them to get it. If it doesn’t happen I’ll be devastated because I really believe we have a great chance,” said Wright.

“That’s why I’m so interested in the Liverpool game because I want to see how we react to what happened last year. Everyone thinks, ‘Oh, let’s see what happens when we come to Liverpool’. They have to use that as fuel.”
