West Ham bounced back from their EFL Cup defeat to Liverpool with a great win against Manchester United.
The Hammers were knocked out of the quarter-finals by the Reds 5-1 at Anfield on Wednesday (20 December).
But the east London club beat the Red Devils 2-0 at home in the Premier League on Saturday (23 December).
They now have the chance to make it two league wins in a row against Arsenal, but it will be a very difficult task on Thursday (28 December) at the Emirates Stadium.
On Boxing Day, the Gunners, led by manager Mikel Arteta, climbed to the top of the standings and the north London club are high in the air.
But the Hammers have also been successful under David Moyes, and the manager is keen to create a real excitement on Thursday away.
The manager has often relied on the same group of players this season and it looks like he will stick to his regular eleven against the Gunners.
This means that Alphonse Areola will probably start in goal, while Vladimir Coufal and Emerson will continue to play on the right and left flank respectively.
Konstantinos Mavropanos replaced the ill Nayef Aguerd against Manchester United, but the latter could start against Arsenal, if he recovers, alongside Kurt Zouma.
In the defensive midfield, the reliable duo of Tomas Soucek and Edson Alvarez is likely to reappear, with Mohammed Kudus, James Ward-Prowse and Lucas Paqueta in front of them.
Up front, Jarrod Bowen is expected to start in the absence of the injured Michail Antonio.
