Tottenham Hotspur seem to be ahead of Manchester United in considering Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy ahead of the January transfer deadline.
Tottenham have coped well with the departure of Harry Kane, with Son Heung-min and now Richarlison stepping up.
Spurs may still be tempted to spend on a new striker in 2024 and there is talk of a number of strikers.
Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez has been linked, but Spurs could turn to Germany and land a striker to challenge Kane on the goalscoring charts.
Serhou Guirassy wants Tottenham Hotspur transfer:
Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy is interested in a January deal with Tottenham, The Sun claims.
They state that Manchester United want Guirassy, but he would prefer to join Spurs.
This is a very positive sign for Tottenham and a sign that the project under the leadership of Ange Postecoglou is attractive for potential players.
Spurs now have to weigh up whether they want to actually transfer for Guirassy or leave him to consider other clubs.
According to TEAMtalk earlier this season, Spurs were said to be exploring the possibility of a deal for the Guinean international.
Guirassy, who boss Sebastian Hoeness described as “phenomenal”, has been in absolutely incredible form this season, scoring 17 goals in just 14 Bundesliga appearances.
That’s enough to make anyone’s head spin, but Tottenham may have some concerns about a transfer for Guirassy.
Firstly, Guirassy is supposed to be with Guinea at the African Cup of Nations, which would make a January move a little more complicated and could mean he misses games.
An additional concern is that Guirassy has never been in this kind of shape before.
Guirassy switched between a number of French and German clubs before scoring goal after goal in Stuttgart.
We would be cautious if this was just a moment that Guirassy could not repeat in the Premier League.
Tottenham and Postecoglou will now have to decide whether to take a risk with Guirassy, with one hurdle removed as he appears keen to transfer to north London when the window opens.
