Mikel Arteta indirectly tells Gunners World-class duo to find another club, Edu Gasper will accept offers for the pairs after failing to impress him

Arsenal want to sell off Thomas Partey and Jorginho in the January transfer window and will accept a reasonable offer for each of them, sources have told Football Insider.

The Gunners are looking to thin out their first-team squad next month to make room for new signings ahead of the second half of the 2023/24 season.

Partey is one of the highest-paid players at Arsenal, with talkSPORT claiming he earns more than £200,000 a week on his current contract.

Jorginho is also expected to be one of the top earners at the London club after his transfer to Arsenal in January 2023 on a salary of £110,000 a week.

If Arsenal were to part with the two central midfielders, they would lose more than £16 million a year from their wage bill, freeing up space for Arteta to bring in new players.

As revealed by Football Insider on Thursday (28 December), Arsenal have prepared a three-man shopping list for January, which includes a new defender, a central midfielder and a striker.

Partey has been unavailable for most of the 2023/24 season due to a recurring hamstring injury and has made just five appearances for the Gunners in all competitions.

The Ghanaian international last played for Arsenal in October in a 1-0 win over Manchester City.

Italian Jorginho has played just 382 minutes in 11 appearances in the Premier League this season and has not featured in Arsenal’s last five games.

The summer arrivals of Kai Havertz and Declan Rice have relegated Jorginho to the lower echelons of the competition at the Emirates and his departure now looks likely.
