West Ham United are ready to let forward Callum Marshall leave the London Stadium on loan in the January transfer window, according to the Evening Standard.
The newspaper reported on its website (31 December) that the Northern Irish footballer is one of a number of young players who the Hammers will allow to leave on loan and seek regular first-team football outside east London.
Marshall made the transition to the Under-21 side with ease this season, scoring 19 goals in just 13 appearances in Premier League 2 and the EFL Cup, but has yet to make an appearance in a claret and blue jersey.
It is clear that despite his impressive achievements at youth level, Moyes does not believe Marshall is ready to join the West Ham United first team yet, so it makes perfect sense for the 19-year-old to leave as a loan player.
Although his goal tally in the Hammers Under-21 team is outstanding, it probably shows that the Northern Irish footballer has learnt all he can play at this level and that he would learn more by going on loan somewhere in the EFL.
The teenager is unlikely to be short of potential supporters given his status as a full foreigner, and West Ham will be able to pick and choose clubs depending on what situation would be most favourable for the striker.
Many players have not been able to make the step up from youth football, and Moyes and the Irons will get a better idea of how talented Marshall is if they can secure him regular first-team playing time outside the London Stadium.
Moyes will have Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio, Danny Ings and Divin Mubama at his disposal for the second half of the season, enough to compete in the Premier League and Europa League.
