Chelsea man tells Arsenal star to LEAVE the Emirates and join Man Utd after Mikel Arteta used favouritism to send him to the bench for his countryman – Should he be allowed to move from the club?

Former Premier League goalkeeper turned commentator Mark Schwarzer thinks Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale should join Manchester United in January.

Schwarzer, a former Chelsea and Fulham player, has suggested Old Trafford as a possible destination for Ramsdale, who became Mikel Arteta’s first-choice goalkeeper after transferring from Sheffield United in a deal worth around £30m.

However, Ramsdale cannot transfer to United mid-season, and unlike Schwarzer, I don’t think he is a better goalkeeper than Andre Onana.

Schwarzer told Optus Sport: “If I hadn’t gone to Chelsea, where else would Ramsdale be? There’s Manchester United, which I think would also be a great destination for him.

“In my opinion, he is much better than Andre Onana, but probably not in Erik ten Hag’s opinion, as he is likely to stick with his summer signing given how much he has supported him in his first struggles at Old Trafford so far.

“Manchester United could definitely do with Ramsdale, but I think their priorities are elsewhere.”

Ramsdale displaced Bernd Leno, and things were starting to look good for Arsenal, although there were always doubts about whether he was good enough for a team trying to compete for Premier League titles.

Then, out of the blue, it was announced that Arsenal were taking David Raya on loan from Brentford. It is understood that the Spaniard will be signed in the summer after Arteta decided to drop Ramsdale to the bench.

This has led to speculation about Ramsdale’s future, but I can’t see the 25-year-old moving to Old Trafford this month.
