Tottenham defender Eric Dier has agreed a deal with Bayern Munich, sources have told Football Insider.
The 29-year-old Spurs star, who is on the move to the German capital, is closing in on a sensational transfer to the German giants, in which he would reunite with former teammate and White Hart Lane legend Harry Kane.
Dier has reportedly decided to join Bayern in a deal fully backed by Kane, and the deal will be done if and when Tottenham sign a new defender.
Tottenham will be happy to sack Dier, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
However, they will not approve his transfer to the Bundesliga champions unless they can secure a back-row replacement.
Football Insider revealed (4 January) that Ange Postecoglou’s side are confident of signing Genoa defender Radu Dragusin this month after fresh talks.
Extensive talks have been held with the highly-rated Romanian international, who is keen on a transfer to the Premier League.
Football Insider first revealed on 13 November that Bayern are planning a surprise January transfer for Dier.
Now, personal terms have been agreed and the player will complete his remarkable spell at Tottenham.
Sources also told Football Insider (27 December) that Dier, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Hugo Lloris could leave the club in the winter.
Dier has fallen out of favour in north London and has seen just 198 minutes of action this season despite a brutal injury crisis at Spurs.
Long-term absentees Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Ivan Perisic are still unavailable for selection.
Despite the lack of options, Postecoglou has played with full-backs instead of the Englishman this season.
Tottenham are fifth in the Premier League standings after their 3-1 win over Bournemouth on New Year’s Day and their next game is against Burnley in the FA Cup.
