Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has sacked Tottenham right-back Djed Spence as the Whites triggered a recall clause, allowing Elland Road to send him back to London.
Spence spent the first half of this season on loan at Yorkshire and only appeared in seven games due to an ankle injury sustained in training. However, since Spence has returned to the N17, Spurs are planning to send him out on loan for one more game, according to Fabrizio Romano via Twitter.
Spence spent the second half of last season on loan at Stade Rennais in Ligue 1 and racked up 10 appearances for them in all competitions before signing for Leeds. He made just six appearances for the Lilywhites in all competitions.
According to Romano, Tottenham’s immediate plan when it comes to the player is to send him out on loan again, and he is still expected to leave in the next few days.
The specific destination for his next loan remains undisclosed, but it underlines Spurs’ commitment to giving Spence consistent playing time, which will help his overall development.
Spence appears to be a player who has some disciplinary problems, as evidenced by his time at Middlesborough, but in terms of footballing ability he is a very talented player with a natural instinct to carry the ball deep into attacking areas.
