Tottenham beat Bayern Munich to sign Radu Dragusin. As Fabrizio Romano reported, Bayern wanted to snatch the deal from the Lilywhites and made a significant offer to the player and the team.
In response, Tottenham Hotspur submitted an improved offer overnight. Spurs were convinced all along about the signing of Dragusin and counted on him to honour their agreement.
Although the choice depended on the 21-year-old, it was quite easy. At Bayern Munich, the player was not guaranteed playing time all the time. In the meantime, he is likely to become a permanent fixture in Postecoglou’s squad.
Tottenham hold the player in high esteem and have been chasing him since the first day of the transfer window. Things may have looked bad during the Bayern kidnap concerns, but the saga is now over and Dragusin is Tottenham-bound.
It was reported that the Lilywhites paid €30 million for the player. In addition, Spurs’ Djed Spence will join Genoa on a season-long loan deal. He is likely to fill the hole left by Dragusin.
The Romanian defender is expected to arrive in London soon, where they will officially announce the signing of his contract. Tottenham have high hopes for the 21-year-old and will count on him to further improve their defence.
The emotional roller coaster ride is finally over. The signing has been confirmed by Fabrizio Romano and Radu Dragusin will now be part of Tottenham Hotspur. However, an official announcement has yet to be made. It is still unclear whether the player will complete all the formalities quickly enough to be able to play against Manchester United on Sunday.
