Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a contract with Genoa defender Radu Dragusin after fending off competition from Bayern Munich.
Spurs will pay an initial compensation of £21.5 million plus £4.5 million in potential add-ons. Dragusin will fly to London in the next few hours and is scheduled to undergo a medical this afternoon, according to football.london.
As is known, Spurs defender Djed Spence, who will represent Genoa on loan until the end of the current season, will go in the opposite direction as part of this transfer deal.
This deal comes after a loan deal was agreed on Tuesday for RB Leipzig striker Tim Werner. Tottenham will have the option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the current campaign for £15.5 million. With the 27-year-old, Postecoglou has strengthened his attacking options ahead of the final months of the season, when the Lilywhites aim to qualify for the Champions League.
Bayern Munich are pushing to sign Tottenham defender Eric Dier after Radu Dragusin rejected a transfer to join Spurs.
Florian Plettenberg reported that Bayern are focusing on signing Dier after Genoa defender Dragusin opted to move to Tottenham instead of Germany, despite a late attempt by the Bundesliga giants to snatch a deal from Spurs.
The club have already reached an agreement with the England centre-back, but now have to negotiate a fee which is likely to be around €4 million.
Dier has been essentially sidelined under the management of Angelo Postecoglou and has only racked up four Premier League appearances for Spurs this season. He played eight minutes in the last league fixture against Bournemouth, but the signing of Dragusin has only pushed him further down the pecking order and he could now be reunited with Kane at the Allianz Arena.
Spurs have reportedly agreed a deal with Genoa to sign Dragusin worth more than €30 million (£26 million/$33 million) and have also sent Djed Spence in the other direction. The Serie A club took the right-back on loan, including a buy-back option worth around €10 million (£9 million/$11 million).
Spurs hope to complete the deal with Dragusin before this weekend’s match against Manchester United. It remains to be seen whether Bayern will manage to complete the signing of Dier before Friday’s meeting with Hoffenheim.
