“NOT Timo Werner” – Trusted English Journalist tells Spurs fans When Daniel Levy intends to bring in the Perfect Harry Kane replacement – Who is He? [Full Story]

Ben Jacobs said that Timo Werner has not been signed as a possible replacement for Harry Kane and claimed that Tottenham will want to sign a traditional centre-forward next summer.

With the arrival of Werner, Ange Postecoglou now has a lot more options as the German international is capable of playing in the top three.

The Spurs certainly needed some extra firepower up front as they will be without their captain and talisman Son Heung-Min for a few more weeks.

When Son returns from the Asian Cup, the German international may have to compete with Richarlison for the number nine role, but Jacobs believes that the former Chelsea player has not been signed for the central striker role.

Spurs will only replace Harry Kane in the summer
A journalist has hinted that Tottenham are expected to enter the market for a striker of Kane’s calibre next summer.

Speaking on The Done Deal Show, he said: “I don’t think Werner can even be called Kane’s replacement because they are very different and I think Tottenham will still be looking, in quotes, for a replacement for Kane in the summer because Kane is irreplaceable but you will be looking for someone in Kane’s mould.”

Spurs have continued to be linked with a number of number nines in recent weeks, including Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez (Mirror), Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy (TEAMtalk) and Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke (The Sun).

Although Tottenham will enter the market for a striker next summer, I don’t think Postecoglou would be particularly keen on a traditional striker. The Australian prefers nines who are very agile and can press from the front.
