Gary Neville has predicted whether Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur could finish above Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in the Premier League standings this season.
The Sky Sports consultant was impressed by Tottenham’s performance against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
What did Gary Neville say about Tottenham Hotspur? Let’s take a look.
Gary Neville predicts the Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal match:
Tottenham Hotspur drew 2-2 with Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday.
Spurs played well against the Red Devils and were probably the better team. The north London club was also missing some of its best players, including teammate James Maddison and striker Son Heung-min.
Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville, who does not want Ivan Toney to join Arsenal this month, was impressed with what he saw from Spurs.
The pundit believes Tottenham have what it takes to finish above Arsenal and Liverpool in the Premier League standings.
Neville told Sky Sports, “If their players stay healthy they will definitely finish in the top four, but I think they can finish second and third.
“If those players come back and if they can get through the next few weeks, I really think they can be better than Arsenal and Liverpool this season.
“Maybe it will end up being a good draw in the FA Cup against Manchester City. Get out of that and concentrate fully on the league. But they have to win the trophy.
“If they win the trophy, great, but we know that in the past when teams have had a really explosive season, they have not usually been in Europe or competitions.
“It would be something special for Ange Postecoglou if they get to second or third place, which they could do if they have clean sheets.”
