JUST IN – Enzo Maresca has used his Man City connections to bring player to Leicester City as Pep Guardiola top talented ace is set to sign permanently for the Foxes amid latest report

Leicester City have expressed their desire to secure Manchester City loanee Callum Doyle on loan on a permanent basis, according to The Athletic. Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca has used his Manchester City connections to take the left-sided defender on loan for the 2023/24 season.

As revealed by The Athletic in a previous report, with Callum Doyle’s season-long loan, talks have been held over a permanent or compulsory purchase. The 20-year-old made an impressive start to his career at Leicester City as a left-sided defender, but his progress was interrupted by a knee injury and he is currently on the road to recovery.

Despite the setback, however, a recent report from The Athletic states that the Foxes are still interested in securing Callum Doyle permanently and stress their desire to extend his stay beyond the original loan deal.

Doyle’s return to Leicester City’s starting eleven and a return to form is likely to play a key role in talks over a permanent move.

The support of the fans and Enzo Maresco’s link with Manchester City could be beneficial. In addition, if Leicester City secure promotion from the Championship, it could strengthen their position for a possible permanent deal.

It is also difficult at the moment to see a pathway into the first team given the type of talent that Man City are currently strengthening at the back.
