James Maddison hinted at his possible availability against Manchester City with his latest social media post.
Spurs fans are waiting with bated breath for Maddison to return to the pitch, as the attacking midfielder has been out for almost three months after suffering an ankle injury in early November.
The 27-year-old has made a remarkable start to his Tottenham career, scoring three goals and six assists in just 11 Premier League appearances for the club, and his return will undoubtedly add a lot more sharpness to Ange Postecoglou’s team in attack, given the vision and technical quality of the centre-forward.
Maddison hints that he is back on the pitch for Spurs:
A few days ago, The Telegraph reported that Maddison is in contention to play in the FA Cup fourth round match against Man City next Friday.
According to reports, the former Leicester City star is expected to start training with his teammates when the Spurs players return from the winter break on Monday and if he makes it through those training sessions injury-free, he could play against Pep Guardiola’s men.
Maddison’s tip:
Interestingly, Maddison posted a photo of his football boots accompanied by some heart emojis on his Instagram stories, sending a big hint about his return.
A full house is expected at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against Manchester City, and the Spurs faithful would be desperately hoping that the midfield mastermind will return to the pitch after a long absence.
Maddison’s return will add a whole different dimension to Tottenham’s attack, as the 27-year-old will make our attack much more effective. We have been quite wasteful in the final third over the last few months, and the England international will largely correct that.
