After Tottenham officially confirmed the departure of Ivan Perisic to Split Hajduk on Friday, it seems that another player who wants to join a specific club wants to leave.
Spurs are letting go of redundant players in a wave of loan deals:
Club president Daniel Levy, chief football officer Scott Munn and technical director Johan Lange have so far guided the club through a fairly active January transfer period.
In addition to the new arrivals, midfielder Tim Werner and defender Radu Dragusin, Spurs have managed to weed out a number of unwanted players on loan deals.
Among them is central defender Eric Dier, who, despite the impending end of his contract, has in fact signed a six-month temporary deal with Bayern Munich.
Presumably so that Bayern can get him permanently when he becomes a free agent in the summer, but it’s still a good deal for the Spurs as they got rid of Dier’s £85,000 a week wage.
As well as the Englishman, youngster Ashley Phillips, Djed Spence, Sergio Reguilon, Japhet Tanganga and Ivan Perisic have also gone out on loan.
Yesterday Tottenham officially announced the latter’s move to Hajduk Split. The 34-year-old sealed the transfer despite still recovering from a complex cruciate ligament injury.
After Perisic, more departures are certainly not ruled out, as the future of midfielders Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Bryan Gil is uncertain.
Hojbjerg could be sold by Spurs in January to make room for a new midfield player, while Postecoglou is personally keen to bring in Chelsea star Conor Gallagher.
Gil, however, is unable to establish himself as a major player under Postecoglou, leading to suggestions that he could return to Spain.

According to the website, Levy is said to have lowered the asking price to around £6-7 million and the 22-year-old is said to be “within reach” of Sevilla. This comes amid reports from Spain (via the Daily Express) that Gil is keen to secure a permanent move with the help of the Spurs chairman.
However, Sevilla are not the only Spanish Premier League side keen to get him, as Real Sociedad are also said to be in the running for his signature.
Despite his lack of playing time with Spurs, Gil has been seen as a promising talent in recent years, with ESPN’s David Cartlidge describing him as “very exciting”.
