Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has sent a message to a player the Gunners reportedly want to sign.
Rice was one of Arsenal’s best players in the convincing 5-0 win against Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium. The former West Ham midfielder contributed an assist for Gabriel’s goal, which kick-started the Gunners’ scoring spree.
Mikel Arteta’s team is linked with the transfer of Brentford striker Ivan Toney. Arsenal are actively looking for a goalscorer up front and have often been linked in the media with the English striker.
A January transfer seems unlikely, but Arsenal are expected to bid again in the summer for Toney, who returned to football at the weekend after a betting ban and scored for the bumblebees.
After his return with a goal, Arsenal midfielder Rice sent a message to Toney.
After uploading several photos of his team’s win over Nottingham Forest to Instagram, Toney added a heartfelt comment.
He wrote: “I’ve wanted to see this moment for a long time.
“It’s been hard being away for so long but stepping on the pitch yesterday, scoring and winning was worth the wait.
“I would also like to thank the fans who stood by me all the way!
“Losing my uncle at this time has also been tough, but I’d like to dedicate my goal to him, I hope he’s proud. Let’s keep working and building together.”
Declan Rice, his England national team-mate, immediately responded and offered his support.
Rice wrote just one message to Tone, saying: “Yesssir,” a player I would love to play with at Arsenal.

Toney’s former teammate David Raya, who joined Arsenal on loan last summer, is also currently playing for Arsenal.
Obviously, if Toney ever decided to move to the Emirates Stadium, he would have two friends at Arsenal.
