BREAKING NEWS – Miami Heat have completed the acquisition of Hornets unbelievable star

The Miami Heat acquired guard Terry Rozier from the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday in exchange for guard Kyle Lowry and a protected first-round pick in the 2027 NHL Entry Draft.

The 29-year-old Rozier is averaging points (23.2) and assists (6.6) in 30 appearances this season, his fifth with the Hornets.

Rozier, Boston’s first-round pick in 2015, averaged 14.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 570 games (328 appearances) with the Celtics and Hornets. He has made 1,199 three-pointers and 82.2 percent of his free throws in his career.

“I want to thank Terry for all his efforts since he came to Charlotte,” Hornets general manager Mitch Kupchak said. “He has been a true professional on the court and a great competitor who has been a positive role model for our young players. He also became a part of the Charlotte community with his dedication to giving back. We wish him all the best in the future.

“Acquiring a future first-round pick gives us an advantage as we look to build long-term sustainable success around our young core of talented players. We are confident that the addition of a future pick and the additional financial flexibility this trade brings will benefit us as we continue to build our team for the future.”

The 37-year-old Lowry is averaging 8.2 points – his fewest since the 2008-09 season – 4.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds in 37 games (35 starts) this season, his third with the Heat.

The six-time All-Star has averaged 14.4 points, 6.2 assists and 4.3 rebounds in 1115 games (866 appearances) with the Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets, Toronto Raptors and Heat. He won an NBA Championship with the Raptors in 2018-19.

The pick is reportedly lottery protected in 2027 and unprotected if it carries over into 2028.

On Tuesday, Miami (24-19) was in sixth place in the Eastern Conference and Charlotte (10-31) was buried in 13th.

The Hornets inherited Lowry’s expiring contract. Rozier has two seasons remaining on the four-year, $96.3 million contract he signed with Charlotte in August 2021.
