DONE DEAL Announcement – Super talented star leaves Man City to join Spurs, signs first lucrative contract with Tottenham, player puts pen to paper at Hotspur Way, club statement released

Tottenham Under-18 ace Herbie James could be given a bigger role in North London after signing his first professional contract at Hotspur Way.

On Monday 22 January, Spurs announced via Tottenham Hotspur’s official website that James had signed his first professional contract with the club.

Although he has not yet featured as much as he might have liked this season, everyone at Tottenham has shown their confidence in the player with this decision.

James was previously a member of Manchester City’s academy, but moved to London last summer to join Spurs as a full scholarship player. James turned 17 this November and has made seven appearances for the Under-18s in all competitions this season.

His only appearance this campaign came away to Leicester City Under-18s in the Premier League South (11 November 2023), where he showed his quality and potential by contributing an assist in the 4-1 win over the visitors.

In addition to that assist, he also scored a goal this season, coming off the bench in the 28th minute of the game, when his team beat Norwich Under-18s 7-2 at Hotspur Way (7 October 2023).

Following his recent contract decision, James is hoping to be even more involved in what has been a memorable season for the Under-18s so far.

Despite hardly any appearances, Spurs quickly decided to sign the talented youngster to the club, showing that they believe in and support the player.

Spurs are top of the Southern Division of the Under-18 Premier League, although they have only a two-point advantage over West Ham Under-18s, who have a game more.

James will now look to prove himself and help Spurs win the title ahead of their London rivals, with confidence boosted by his recent contract decision.

This follows the news that Calum Logan (X, 19 January) and Damola Ajayi (X, 18 January) have signed professional contracts with Tottenham in recent days, suggesting that the club is starting to think about the future.
