EXCLUSIVE: Tottenham could yet make one of the most ‘SHOCKING’ moves of the whole window to SIGN £40m star better than Pierre Hojbjerg as Unimpressive Forward likely to LEAVE – journalist

It has become very clear that neither Tottenham Hotspur nor Daniel Levy are done with their deals before tomorrow’s deadline.

While the transfer for Antonio Nusa seems to have fallen through, Spurs remain in the market for one last chance.

It had long appeared that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg would leave this month, but he has now confirmed his commitment to Ange Postecoglou.

That leaves Bryan Gil as perhaps the most likely candidate to leave north London – one to watch.

As said, Tottenham and Levy seem to be very alert to opportunities ahead of tomorrow’s deadline and it seems the long chase for Conor Gallagher is not over yet.

Perhaps the failed Nusra deal has forced Spurs’ hand a bit, as they seem keen to sign another player.

And now that it has been reported that the Spurs are considering a new deal for Gallagher, reporter Luke Edwards has provided further information.

Speaking to the BBC’s Transfer Gossip Daily, Edwards discussed the possibility of a “shock” transfer.

Daniel Levy is still pushing for a historic move to bring Conor Gallagher to Tottenham ahead of schedule.

Edwards explained the situation fully, saying: ‘It’s really interesting. I said it would be complete madness for Chelsea to sell a player who was given the captain’s armband under Pochettino.

“But it’s business logic. He had 18 months left on his contract and he was available, what I call soft availability. The football world knows Conor Gallagher, if you pay the right money he can go.

“Tottenham have been interested in him for a long time, Tottenham sold Harry Kane purely for profit and this month he has the space to do things that other clubs haven’t.

“I just wonder if Tottenham made an offer of £40m or £50m, probably £50m for Conor Gallagher, whether they would accept it.

“And I think that’s a real shame. Because they went and spent £115m on Moises Caicedo and £100m on Enzo Fernandez, they are now in a position where they have to sell this player who has come through the system to their biggest rivals.

“I think that would be one of the most shocking, most high-profile, most high-profile transfers. It’s been talked about all month.

“If Tottenham decide to transfer, they will have to do it in the next 48 hours, but it’s definitely one of the more controversial transfers that could happen.”

One for the ages:

Of course, it would be a really dramatic transfer, which would not go down well with Chelsea fans.

Daniel Levy is always open to opportunities to improve his Tottenham side and this could be a rare chance so close to the transfer deadline.

If Spurs were to show renewed interest in Nusra after the Brentford move collapsed, it seems unlikely that they would opt for both.

However, one of the two now seems increasingly realistic.

With that in mind, it is now clear what the Spurs staff think of a late move for Gallagher.
