In bid to sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea, Impressive Spurs star Oliver Skipp is expected to be one of the players leaving Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window, while Ange Postecoglou is likely to continue with the rebuilding process.
Spurs have been one of the stories of the season so far. Ange Postecoglou has taken Tottenham to the Premier League play-offs. There have been some impressive performances on the pitch.
Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr were outstanding in the middle of the park. It is easy to forget that in Antonio Conte’s time, neither player particularly stood out.
Oliver Skipp is likely to leave Tottenham in the summer:
Pierre-Emile Højbjerg has been relegated and has made most of his appearances from the bench. The same happened with Oliver Skipp.
Skipp recently made his 100th appearance for Tottenham in all competitions. However, the 23-year-old has never been able to establish himself as a key player in the team.
Skipp undoubtedly has great potential. But Spurs have risen to another level. That is why his task is becoming more and more difficult.
Speaking to The Times, journalist Gary Jacob hinted that the academy graduate will be one of those who will leave the room in the summer with interest in Conor Gallagher.
“Tottenham’s midfield is changing. By the summer, Skipp, Højbjerg and maybe Lo Celso will be gone,” he said. “Then Bentancur and Bissouma, Sarr and Maddison will stay. The latter two are attacking. So they would be in short supply and maybe they need a player who can press and break the line.”
The midfielder must now continue his career away from Spurs:
It’s a shame to hear that Skipp is likely to move. After all, he never let the team down when he played. But it seems he could benefit from heading elsewhere in the Premier League.
Three league appearances this season should not be enough for him. Therefore, a summer move may suit all parties, although it would be disappointing if he left Tottenham Hotspur.
