Sources close to Giovani Lo Celso have exclusively told The Spurs Web that the rumours linking him with a last-minute transfer to Galatasaray are just “fake news”.
Aksam claimed this week that Tottenham Hotspur and Galatasaray are still in talks over the purchase of Giovani Lo Celso, with the clubs reportedly trying to agree a deal before the Turkish transfer window closes on Friday.
The report adds that the midfielder is “preparing to say goodbye” to Tottenham and that he is “positive” about the idea of a move to the Istanbul club, where he would link up with old teammates Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombele.
It is also claimed that Spurs are ready to terminate the former Real Betis star’s contract as they understand his desire for playing time.
Yeni Asir also reported that Lo Celso could leave north London this week, explaining that Galatasaray have identified the 27-year-old as the man to strengthen their midfield department.
The Argentine, who is currently injured, is believed to be able to sanction a move as he is keen to play regularly in the coming months.
Giovani Lo Celso is not going anywhere:
However, sources close to Lo Celso have now told The Spurs Web that all rumours of a transfer to Turkey are false.
The Argentine will stay at Tottenham until the end of the season and will fight for a place in the starting line-up when he is fully fit again.
Lo Celso seems determined to prove himself at Tottenham and contribute to what could be an exciting season for the Lilywhites, which I fully respect. Having players in the squad who feel they deserve a place in the starting eleven is extremely healthy for Ange Postecoglou.
