After being linked with Conor Gallagher in the last two transfer windows, Tottenham Hotspur are expected to make a move to SIGN the Chelsea midfielder in the summer, as Tottenham could sign him especially if he does not sign a new contract with the Blues.
Despite the strong rivalry between Tottenham and Chelsea, the Lilywhites have been chasing Conor Gallagher for over a year.
Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou is known to be on the lookout for a new number 8 midfielder to complement his squad, and Gallagher fits the profile that the North Londoners are looking for (Independent).
Fearful of breaching financial fair play rules, Chelsea are ready to sell Gallagher (Ben Jacobs). It has previously been suggested that the Blues would be more open to a transfer at the end of this season.

According to the latest data from The Telegraph, Chelsea could find themselves in a “nightmare” as Gallagher is entering the last 12 months of his current contract and his value is constantly decreasing, which Spurs are ready to take advantage of.
While Gallagher’s market value is decreasing, “his wage profile is increasing”, which means that Chelsea would find it harder to secure a new contract for the 24-year-old.
The Blues have previously rejected Tottenham’s interest, preferring approaches from the likes of Everton, West Ham, Fulham and Brighton, but will know they “can’t be so picky” in the summer.
Reportedly “no significant progress has been made on a new contract” with the central outfield player, but Gallagher is still expected to push for a contract extension. Nevertheless, this deal is “far from certain”.
In this context, the Spurs are “ready to make a strong move” for Gallagher at the end of the season. The Telegraph has asked a top sports director to assess Gallagher from a neutral point of view and put a price tag of £30-35 million on him for the summer.
This would be a “nightmare” for Chelsea, as this price is “much lower than what Chelsea believes he is worth”.
If we can get Gallagher for £30 million in the summer, that is a no-brainer for me. He has shown his quality this year and he would be an important upgrade for us over players like Skipp and Hojbjerg.
