NBA Power Rankings: Where Miami Heats and all 30 teams stack up heading into the All-Star break as LeBron James’s Lakers fall off Bad

With the 2023-24 NBA trade deadline behind us, the race for the playoffs is heating up.

In the West, the battle for first place is closer than ever, with the Minnesota Timberwolves recently regaining the top spot by just one game. The teams in the middle are fighting for position day by day, with the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors trying to hold on to their playoff spots.

In the East, it’s a race for second place as the Boston Celtics have pulled away from the rest of the teams and are at the top of our power rankings for the 13th week in a row.

With just a few months left in the regular season, let’s check in with all 30 teams ahead of the All-Star break.

While Miami struggles to reignite its offense – scoring more than 120 points only twice and less than 100 points five times in the last month – the defence has returned to its usual standards.

In their last seven games, the Heat have allowed 104.7 points per 100 possessions, the best in the NBA since Jan. 31. The defense will have to help Miami on the upcoming road trip for six games, split by the All-Star break, as the Heat won’t return to the Kaseya Center until March 2.
