EXCLUSIVE: Harry Kane open to Tottenham return on ONE CONDITION after Bayern Munich development

According to Tottenham News, Harry Kane is ready to return to the Premier League and join his boyhood club in the summer.

Kane has left Spurs to join European giants Bayern Munich for an initial fee of £86 million, which could rise to £100 million with any add-ons, a Bundesliga record (Sky Sports News, 13 August).

On a personal level, he has shone in Germany, scoring 27 league goals and five assists in his first 23 Bundesliga appearances.

Despite these incredible numbers, there is a good chance that Bayern and Kane will finish the season empty-handed and that the English captain’s wait for his first trophy will continue.

Bayer Leverkusen currently lead the Bundesliga as Xabi Alonso’s side are unbeaten and eight points ahead of Bayern, who have won the Bundesliga title for 11 consecutive seasons.

Meanwhile, Bayern must make up ground in the UEFA Champions League after a 1-0 defeat to Lazio in Italy in the first leg of the round of 16.

As a result of these problems, it was recently announced that Thomas Tuchel will leave Bayern after the end of the season (BBC Sport, 21 February).

Could Harry Kane return to Tottenham in the summer?

With uncertainty swirling around the Allianz Arena, a source close to Spurs has revealed to Tottenham News that Kane could rejoin the North London team in the summer.

Kane recently revealed his “sadness” at the announcement that Tuchel will leave (via the Metro, 25 February), and could well follow the 50-year-old through the door this summer.

The 30-year-old became Spurs’ record goalscorer last season when he scored his 267th goal for the club in a 1-0 win against Manchester City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 5 February 2023.

He is now 47 goals behind Alan Shearer in the Premier League’s all-time scorers’ list and could try to break the legendary striker’s record by returning to England next season.
