Eric Dier fires shot at Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham after lucky Champions League win over Lazio

Former Tottenham Hotspur player Eric Dier spoke about his new start after last night’s success for Bayern Munich.

Dier, who Ange Postecoglou thought was redundant, has really turned his season around in Germany.

The England international has already played eight games for Bayern and last night played 90 minutes in the decisive second leg against Lazio.

After the 3-0 win, which was partly thanks to Harry Kane’s world-class shooting skills, Dier was very happy with his new challenge.

Both Tottenham and Postecoglou are probably not surprised by Dier’s new success at Bayern, as he has never been considered a bad player.

However, the 30-year-old simply didn’t fit in with the new manager’s playing philosophy, perhaps he wasn’t suited to playing in such a high line.

Nevertheless, speaking to TNT Sports, Dier felt at home at Bayern and admitted that the move was something he needed at this point in his career.

Eric Dier says he needed a move to Bayern after being neglected at Tottenham:

Given how well he has done in the Bundesliga, it is now expected that Dier will sign a permanent contract with Bayern in the near future.

And he certainly didn’t seem to have any regrets.

Dier shared: “It feels great. The way everyone has welcomed me, the fans, the players and the club, has helped me a lot.

“It’s made it very easy for me to settle in. I’m just enjoying it, something new, a fresh start.

“It was something I needed individually and I’m really enjoying it.

“A new country, new club and everything is going well.”

Jamie Carragher also praised Harry Kane’s decision to switch clubs last summer after the game.

Of course, Dier Kane joined Bayern just six months after the former Spurs captain decided to make his move.

And given how popular both were in north London, some Tottenham fans might not have minded if Bayern had gone all the way in the Champions League, especially if it had been at Arsenal’s expense.
