West Ham United are now interested in Fulham boss Marco Silva as he is considering parting ways with David Moyes.
The Hammers won the Conference Europa League last season after Moyes led them to glory.
Football can be an industry of “what have you done for me lately?” and Moyes is certainly experiencing that.
With six games without a win and three consecutive defeats at the start of 2024, Moyes was under a lot of pressure.
Two consecutive wins have eased the pressure somewhat, but Moyes is out of contract at the end of the season.
Many expect Moyes to move on and West Ham are already being linked with other managers – including Fulham’s Marco Silva.
Marco Silva is being linked with West Ham:
Fulham manager Silva could “emerge as a candidate” for the West Ham job this summer, according to Give Me Sport.
The Hammers reportedly admire Silva and could opt for him if Moyes leaves.
In addition to Silva, Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel, Paulo Fonseca of Lille and Arne Slot of Feyenoord are said to be in West Ham’s thoughts.
These claims may not come as a big surprise to Fulham supporters.
The Daily Mail reported last year that West Ham liked Silva and wanted him as Moyes’ possible successor.
Now here we are again and Fulham will be on red alert for a possible Kladivar approach.
We can only admire how Silva has restored his reputation at Craven Cottage.
Silva spent 18 months without a managerial job after leaving Everton in December 2019 and some wondered whether he would ever get a Premier League job again.
Instead, Silva took the bold step of dropping down to the Championship with Fulham after Scott Parker’s transfer to Bournemouth.
After securing promotion, Silva re-established Fulham as a solid Premier League club, bringing in some quality players along the way.
We would not like to see Silva leave the club and, in fact, we think it would take something special to lure him away from Fulham.
Whether West Ham is such a move remains to be seen, but Silva would certainly go to the Hammers after three fine years at the Cottage.
