The Pittsburgh Steelers have addressed a roster gap by signing punter Cameron Johnston, previously with the Houston Texans.
Johnston, 32, brings a wealth of experience, having spent three seasons with the Texans and before that, three seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles.
As the NFL’s 2021 punting leader, Johnston boasted an impressive average of 47.7 yards per punt last season, contributing to his career average of 47.3 yards.
His precision in placing punts is noteworthy, with 182 kicks landing inside the 20-yard line throughout his career and a 40.9% average of punts placed inside the 20.
In the 2023 season, Johnston maintained his accuracy, landing 45.5% of his punts inside the 20-yard line while limiting touchbacks to just three.
