Top-class defender is OUT, €60m forward starts despite injury scare, Unplayable Midfielder benched – Tottenham line up to easily bruise past Luton Town Revealed

Tottenham Hotspur return to Premier League action on Saturday looking to put the pain of the loss at Fulham firmly in the rearview mirror.

Spurs will bring a close to the international break with the visit of Luton Town to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and the hosts will want to put in a performance that dispels memories of that dismal display at Craven Cottage.

Ange Postecoglou has got all of his international players back now, and many of them played little to no part in their country’s second games this fortnight, which should hand him a fresher side to face Luton than expected.

We got our Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold and head of football.london Lee Wilmot to predict the team they reckon the Australian will select for Saturday’s game.

Alasdair Gold – Tottenham Hotspur Correspondent:

Postecoglou has a couple of decisions to make here. Does he go with his strongest possible side and then make some changes for the game at West Ham with just two days in between? Or does he mix up the teams from the off and use a couple of unexpected faces for the match against Luton?

The Australian will provide an update on the progress of Micky van de Ven following his hamstring problem at Villa, but you would imagine that either way, the game at Luton provides a chance to hand Radu Dragusin another chance to start and get used to the Premier League. The Romanian only played the first half of his country’s second game this fortnight.

Richarlison did not play a single minute of football for Brazil, which might suggest he is still feeling the effects of his previous knee issue. Son Heung-min played every minute for South Korea in their doubleheader against Thailand, but whether Postecoglou will rest his captain is another thing.

There was some concern over Destiny Udogie not being named in the squad for Italy’s second match after playing in the first, but Spurs quickly posted photos of the young Italian left-back on the pitches of Hotspur Way following his return.

Gold’s team: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Dragusin, Udogie; Sarr, Bissouma, Maddison; Kulusevski, Son, Werner.

Lee Wilmot – Head of Football:

Two weeks have gone by since Tottenham last played that dreadful match against Fulham.

And it has been two weeks in which the international break has been pretty kind on Spurs and their players. But while it may sound perfect to get the full-strength team out, come what may, there’s the small matter of a quick turnaround and a clash with West Ham on Tuesday night to consider too.

Because of that, I’m thinking of leaving the likes of Micky van de Ven, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Brennan Johnson for that clash – albeit as substitutes vs. Luton should they be needed.

Radu Dragusin should partner Cristian Romero in the heart of defense, giving Van de Ven that little bit of extra time to recover. Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie are the full-backs, with Guglielmo Vicario behind them, of course.

In midfield, Pape Sarr and Yves Bissouma should be fresh, as should James Maddison, who barely got a look-in – strangely – for England.

Then up top, I’ve got Dejan Kulusevski and Son Heung-min supporting the returning Richarlison through the middle – who could have a field day if he’s got his shooting boots and Luton are as open as they usually are.

Wilmot’s team: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Dragusin, Udogie; Sarr, Bissouma, Maddison; Kulusevski, Richarlison, Son.
