“He’s coming to the Emirates to take his place in the team” – Report confirms World-class star has rejected Chelsea and could be set to join Arsenal to win the Champions League and Premier League

Chelsea target Ousmane Diomande is reportedly edging closer to a transfer to Arsenal, as per O Jogo in Portugal. Despite being just 20 years old, the Ivory Coast international has emerged as a key figure in Sporting’s nearly flawless title charge, garnering attention across Europe for his remarkable progress.

The Gunners are said to be eager to finalize the deal before any potential competitors, including Chelsea, enter the fray. While Diomande’s €80m release clause may seem daunting, there is room to negotiate the final price by including various clauses and add-ons. However, O Jogo asserts that Sporting is adamant about not accepting offers significantly below the release clause.

For Chelsea, the pressing need lies in acquiring a seasoned and imposing central defender. Despite recruiting players in that position with various attributes, none have truly risen to the occasion this season, except for Trevoh Chalobah, who may need to be sold to address financial concerns.

While Diomande may not immediately satisfy Chelsea’s need for experience given his young age and relatively quiet demeanor, his exceptional physical attributes and solid technical skills present an opportunity to develop into a top-tier player.

Although Arsenal holds the advantage, boasting two established young defenders already in their ranks, Chelsea could potentially sway Diomande’s decision if they express genuine interest.

However, the primary obstacle remains financial, as Chelsea will likely need to offload players before making any significant acquisitions. Players like Axel Disasi or Benoit Badiashile may not attract substantial offers, while the potential sale of Levi Colwill could incite backlash from the Stamford Bridge faithful.
