Chelsea are closing in on a £30 million deal to sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester.

Chelsea have snatched Dewsbury-Hall from under the noses of Brighton, despite him completing a medical at Brighton this week following the Seagulls agreeing a fee with Leicester.

Left-footed Dewsbury-Hall is viewed by Chelsea as a player who will fit perfectly into Maresca’s system.

He started 41 games under Maresca in the Championship last season, scoring 12 goals and providing 14 assists as they secured promotion back to the Premier League.

Leicester are reportedly under pressure to raise around £40 million before the June 30 deadline as they battle to stay in line with Premier League spending rules.

June 30 marks the end of the financial year, so deals need to be finalised on Sunday for clubs to register them in their 2023-24 accounts.

Chelsea have also agreed a deal in principle to sign forward Marc Guiu from Barcelona, while they are closing in on the signing of defender Aaron Anselmino from Boca Juniors.
