Celtic FC Women will face Hammarby at Tyresövallen on the 7th of August as they head to Sweden for their pre-season training camp. Hammarby, currently third in the Damallsvenskan after 13 games, were crowned Swedish Champions last season for the second time in their history.

They enjoy solid support and were also the last team that Celtic manager Elena Sadiku played for before retiring due to recurring injuries.

This match will be a great occasion, pitting the reigning champions of Scotland and Sweden against each other.

Yesterday, Celtic Women returned to training following the off-season, with new signings in action for the first time. Elena Sadiku looked thrilled to be back at work.

More friendlies are expected to be announced soon. Fans are eager to see the new players take to the pitch in the Hoops, and hopefully, there will be more signings, especially after the squad was reduced by four names at the end of June.

Lisa Robertson, Imane Addi, Sydney Cummings, and Tiree Burchill all departed from the SWPL1 Champions. Lisa Robertson has since signed a two-year contract with Hearts.

If you haven’t already, mark the first game of the SWPL season in your calendar. Celtic Women will face Dundee United at the Excelsior Stadium on 11 August, kicking off their defence of the league title.

And remember, there’s still time to purchase a season ticket for the upcoming season to back the Ghirls in green!
