Rocco Vata is reportedly on the verge of a transfer exit from Celtic, with advanced talks taking place, according to recent reports.

The 19-year-old forward is said to be negotiating a move to Watford, which could see him make a switch to the Championship this summer. Vata, who made two appearances for Celtic last season, is currently out of contract, although new terms have been offered by the Glasgow club.

However, Vata has attracted significant interest from both Serie A clubs and English sides, suggesting a bright future for the young talent.

According to Sky Sports, Watford are currently leading the race to secure his services, with a four-year deal reportedly on the table. The teenager has already visited the London-based club’s facilities and met with representatives, indicating that discussions are at an advanced stage.

Should an agreement be reached between Vata and Watford, Celtic would be entitled to a compensation fee of £237,000. This figure reflects the training compensation due to the Scottish club for the development of the young player.

Journalist Anthony Joseph elaborated on the situation, stating: “Watford are in advanced talks with Celtic forward Rocco Vata. It’s understood the 19-year-old has visited the facilities and met with club representatives. Watford are offering Vata a four-year deal. Celtic would be due £237,000 in training compensation if he joins Watford.”

Vata’s father, Rudi, recently spoke about his son’s future on the radio show Off The Ball, expressing a desire for his son to succeed at Celtic but acknowledging the uncertainties involved. He said:

“I always felt that you need to build your first house in the place that you are born and in the place that you learn the ABC of football. And he has done that. He has gone through the alphabet, going through all the stages. I think and I always thought he can do it there (at Celtic) and he can make it big.”

Rudi Vata continued: “I remember Rocco, he’s been different since he was born, a different child. I have another boy, nephews I’ve seen children playing and being around the house – I think he’s been unique since he was born. I think God chose him for his own reason and I think he realised that because I always told him ‘God has given you something very special, just work on it’. I think his attitude, his mentality, he builds up those things that I always told him to work hard, to build up the mentality, the character, and personality.”

Rudi concluded with optimism about Rocco’s future: “He built those three things and those three things nobody can take from you. I think now he’s ready to get to first-team football and explode his talent. And hopefully, it’ll be at Celtic. But until it’s done, you never know.”

The potential move to Watford could mark a significant step in Rocco Vata’s burgeoning career, offering him the opportunity to develop further in a competitive environment.
