Leicester City have reached an agreement with Crystal Palace to sign forward Jordan Ayew, according to South London Press journalist Edmund Brack.

Ayew, the younger brother of Andre Ayew—who had a productive partnership with Steve Cooper at Nottingham Forest and Swansea City—has been a prime target for the Foxes throughout the transfer window. Cooper has been keen to bolster his attacking options with value deals amid the ongoing PSR uncertainty.

The 32-year-old, entering the final season of his contract at Selhurst Park, now brings his experience to Leicester’s front line as they gear up for their return to the Premier League.

Last season, Ayew was in fine form for Palace, contributing four goals and seven assists in 35 appearances, proving his continued effectiveness in top-flight football.

Jordan Ayew has been a reliable presence for Crystal Palace during his five-and-a-half years at the club. Initially joining on loan from Swansea City, Ayew made 195 Premier League appearances for the Eagles, scoring 21 goals and earning the respect of the fans.

However, with the veteran forward now entering the final year of his permanent contract in London, the opportunity to move to the East Midlands appears too good to pass up.

His contract situation ensured that his transfer fee would be lower than his market value might suggest, and Brack reports that the two clubs have settled on a fee of around £8 million.
