Brighton have finalized the signing of Celtic’s standout midfielder Matt O’Riley, with the deal likely to surpass £25 million, setting a new record for the Glasgow club. The Denmark international has been Brighton’s top target this summer, as they look to bolster their squad further.

Celtic had previously turned down several offers from Europa League winners Atalanta, holding firm on their valuation of the talented playmaker.

Now, renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that a “verbal agreement is almost done,” with O’Riley set to join the Seagulls shortly.

Despite the ongoing transfer speculation, O’Riley, who was spotted training at Lennoxtown today, has maintained his high standards on the pitch. His professionalism and dedication have drawn praise from Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers and team captain Callum McGregor.

Throughout the transfer window, O’Riley has never pushed for a move, even when Atletico Madrid showed interest earlier this year. The Spanish giants had a bid rejected in January, but O’Riley remained focused on his duties with Celtic.

Having joined the club from MK Dons for a modest £1.5 million two-and-a-half years ago, the midfielder now appears set to return to England in a big-money transfer.
