Manor Solomon is poised to leave Tottenham Hotspur for Leeds United, with a medical scheduled for Saturday, 24 August. The move, which has been widely reported, was confirmed by Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via X on the evening of 23 August.
The Israeli international reportedly turned down a rival bid from Spanish side Getafe, with Leeds now in the “final stages” of securing his signature.
Romano stated: “Manor Solomon set for medical tests at Leeds United on Saturday. He’s leaving Spurs after rejecting bid from Getafe as England has always been his priority. Deal at final stages with LUFC.”
The news was echoed by Spurs-linked agent Paul O Keefe, who noted that the 25-year-old winger is “on the verge” of completing his move to Elland Road. This transfer will see Solomon reunite with former Tottenham teammate Joe Rodon, who joined Leeds earlier this summer in a £10 million deal.
Leeds United and Tottenham have had a number of interactions this summer, beginning with Spurs’ acquisition of promising midfielder Archie Gray from the Yorkshire club.
This was the first of several departures from Elland Road, with other key players like Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter also exiting.
Summerville made his way to West Ham, while Rutter headed to Brighton, leaving significant gaps in the Leeds squad that the club has been slow to address.
However, the recent capture of Largie Ramazani from Almeria on 22 August and now the imminent signing of Solomon suggest that Leeds’ recruitment team is finally moving to fill the voids left by these departures.
The urgency of these late-window moves indicates a realisation within the club that reinforcements are essential for the challenges ahead.
Manager Daniel Farke had reportedly shown interest in bringing his former Norwich City loanee Oliver Skipp to Leeds earlier in the summer, but the midfielder opted to join Leicester City in a deal exceeding £20 million.
Despite this, Farke’s desire to strengthen the squad persists, with further reinforcements likely on the agenda. According to reports, the Leeds boss is still keen on adding another midfielder and a full-back before the transfer window slams shut.
Leeds have already brought in Joe Rothwell on loan from Bournemouth, but a direct replacement for Glen Kamara, who left for Rennes, is still needed.
The signing of Jayden Bogle from Sheffield United has addressed the right-back position to some extent, but Farke will be wary of the losses in his defensive options, including the departures of Archie Gray, Burnley loanee Connor Roberts, and the versatile Jamie Shackleton.
If Solomon passes his medical and the deal goes through, it will be a significant addition for Leeds as they look to rebuild their squad and compete effectively in the Championship this season.
