Kris Boyd was far from impressed with Rangers’ 3-0 drubbing at the hands of Celtic at Celtic Park this afternoon.
The former Rangers striker and Ibrox stalwart was visibly frustrated in his post-match analysis, delivering a scathing critique of the team’s performance.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Boyd didn’t hold back:
“You don’t get time in football. Do you think Rangers fans are sitting at home absolutely delighted watching Celtic celebrate in front of the TV? Watching their team’s performance there? It is embarrassing. Embarrassing.”
Boyd particularly singled out Rangers captain James Tavernier, criticising his lack of urgency and commitment:
“You’ve got a captain – I know James Tavernier has had his critics over the years – go and show a two-minute clip of why Celtic totally dominated that game. It was summed up within two minutes. James Tavernier labouring back when he lost the ball in the middle of the pitch, to Kyogo running the full length to tackling Tom Lawrence. That is the difference.”

Boyd’s frustration extended to Rangers manager Philippe Clement and the players, emphasising Celtic’s superiority on the day. His comments underscore the growing discontent among the Ibrox faithful as Celtic continue to widen the gap between the two sides.
Celtic, meanwhile, have strengthened their position following the transfer window, bolstering their squad with signings like Arne Engels, Luke McCowan, Auston Trusty, and Alex Valle.
