‘This is UNACCEPTABLE’ – Everton set to RECEIVE fresh POINTS DEDUCTION as £4.9m update emerges straight out of Goodison Park but Leicester City got no Punishment for Breaching PSR Rules since 2023

Everton could face further points deductions from the Premier League, according to a report from The Times.

The newspaper revealed on Wednesday (4 September) that while the club has been relieved of the obligation to pay the full £4.9million legal costs associated with last season’s Profit and Sustainability Rules case, their legal troubles are far from over.

The Toffees are currently embroiled in another dispute with the Premier League, this time concerning whether they can exclude £6.6million in interest payments related to their new stadium from their PSR calculations.

The previous £4.9million costs do not account for this new case. Should Everton lose this legal battle, the club could be hit with another points deduction.

It is often said that every grey cloud has a silver lining, but for Everton, that silver lining remains elusive. Goodison Park is shrouded in a series of challenges that seem to offer little in the way of relief.

Even with the recent news that they won’t need to cover the entire £4.9million in legal fees, the threat of additional financial penalties and points deductions continues to loom large.

The ongoing legal battles between Everton and the Premier League appear to have no end in sight, and the uncertainty is casting a long shadow over the club’s future.

Fans, already anxious about the club’s standing, will be hoping that this latest dispute is the final hurdle in what has been a tumultuous period for the Toffees.

The constant spectre of points deductions is not only hampering Everton’s progress on the pitch but may also be deterring potential investors from pursuing a takeover.

The hope now is that this latest clash with the Premier League will be resolved swiftly, allowing Everton to move forward and focus on their future.
