Corinthians were unsuccessful in their bid to sign West Ham United defender Luizão during the summer transfer window.
On August 21st, Globo Esporte reported that the Hammers had accepted a loan offer from the Brazilian club for the 22-year-old centre-back.
However, the move didn’t materialise, and Luizão remains at West Ham for the time being. That situation could soon change, according to a new report from UOL.
The Brazilian outlet claims that Turkish side Eyüpspor are now keen to sign Luizão before the Turkish transfer window closes on September 13th.
Having earned promotion to the Süper Lig last season, Eyüpspor are eager to strengthen their squad ahead of the deadline, and they are reportedly eyeing Luizão on a loan deal.
As it stands, Eyüpspor have not yet made an official offer to West Ham. However, UOL suggests that all parties involved in the potential deal are looking to ‘speed up talks’ in order to secure the defender’s move before the window shuts.
KAA Gent had also shown interest in the young Brazilian, but they were unable to finalise a deal before the Belgian transfer window closed last Friday.
Luizão has yet to feature for West Ham’s first team since joining the Premier League club from São Paulo in January 2023. A loan move to Eyüpspor could provide him with valuable first-team experience in Turkey’s top flight.
For Eyüpspor to complete the deal, they will need to move swiftly and submit an official offer to West Ham before the window closes.
