Jesurun Rak-Sakyi opted for Sheffield United over Leeds United after being “impressed” by the plans laid out for him by Blades boss Chris Wilder. The Crystal Palace attacker had been linked with both clubs, but ultimately decided on a loan move to Bramall Lane.
Leeds United had shown significant interest in the 21-year-old, and Rak-Sakyi was made well aware of their desire to bring him to Elland Road.
However, the Yorkshire club ended up bolstering their attacking options with the signings of Manor Solomon and Largie Ramazani instead, both of whom featured in the recent match against Hull.
Speaking to The Sheffield Star (10 September), Rak-Sakyi acknowledged the size and stature of Leeds but explained why he chose Sheffield United.
“My agent made me aware of the interest from them [Leeds] and I knew it was a big club,” Rak-Sakyi said. “But the manager here spoke to me and I was really impressed with what he said and the plans he had for me. So that made me decide to come here.”

While some Leeds fans were surprised by Rak-Sakyi’s decision, many believe the Whites may have ended up with the better deal. With the Crystal Palace youngster choosing Sheffield United, Leeds turned their attention to Manor Solomon.
Solomon, who has previously been hampered by injuries, has already made a strong impression. Former Leeds manager Neil Redfearn recently described him as “unplayable” at times.
Solomon shone on his debut, earning both an assist and the Man of the Match award in his first appearance for Leeds.
His form has even carried over to the international stage, where he showcased his talent despite Israel’s 3-1 loss to Belgium.
Although it’s still early in the season, Leeds appear to be on the right track, and their hopes of securing Premier League promotion remain very much alive.
