Overconfident Celtic captain Callum McGregor sends WARNING to Borussia Dortmund ahead of Champions League clash at Signal Iduna Park after superb 6-0 win at St Johnstone

Celtic captain Callum McGregor is eagerly anticipating the upcoming UEFA Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund, following his side’s commanding 6-0 victory over St. Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership.

The Hoops were in imperious form in Perth, brushing aside their opponents with ease. McGregor played a key role, netting Celtic’s fourth goal of the evening with a well-placed shot into the bottom right corner after a cleverly worked short corner routine.

The midfielder once again led by example before being given a rare rest in the final stages, with Luke McCowan stepping in to take over in midfield.

Reflecting on the win, McGregor believes the team is in perfect shape ahead of their trip to Germany for matchday two of the Champions League group stage.

“We’re in as good a shape as we’ve been,” he said (premiersports.com). “We’ve got to fancy ourselves. Let’s see if we can go and hurt them.”

Celtic will certainly approach the game with confidence, but they are well aware of the challenge Dortmund presents.

The Bundesliga side, runners-up in last season’s Champions League, may not have started the campaign in top form, but their 4-2 win over Bochum on Friday serves as a reminder of their quality.

Tuesday night promises to be a thrilling encounter between two of Europe’s big names.
