TalkSPORT pundit Jason Cundy launched a scathing attack on Celtic, accusing them of “embarrassing Scottish and British football” following their 7-1 Champions League thrashing by Borussia Dortmund in Germany.
Cundy, a former Chelsea and Tottenham defender, shared his harsh verdict alongside fellow ex-professional Jamie O’Hara on their late-night radio show.
The pair dissected Celtic’s humiliation at the intimidating Signal Iduna Park, where the Scottish champions were ruthlessly dismantled by the Bundesliga giants.
Cundy, never one to shy away from criticising Scottish football, expressed his frustration at Celtic’s repeated failures in Europe.
“I’m BORED. Every single Champions League campaign around this time Celtic get it in the neck, mate.
“They’re embarrassing Scottish and British football. Win the league, celebrate, get pumped… win the league, celebrate, get ” he said, clearly unimpressed by their continental performances.
But referencing their scintillating start in the Champions League when they hammered Slovan Bratislava 5-1 at Parkhead, sidekick O’hara said: “They won the first game.” But Cundy countered: “Against the lowest ranked side.”
O’Hara said: “I know. We have this conversation every time. They’re garbage. It’s not their fault. They can’t compete. We end up going round in circles every year. They’re a big club in Scotland but they don’t have the facilities against the top players.”
