Jamie McGrath ends Aberdeen Handball Goal Controversy debate as he shares Duk’s on-pitch reaction that suggested if Dons were Really Cheated by the VAR as many Celtic Haters had claimed

Celtic’s weekend clash with Aberdeen raised several talking points as Brendan Rodgers’ men squandered a two-goal lead to settle for a 2-2 draw at Parkhead.

While fans remain frustrated by the result, controversy around VAR added another layer to the post-match debate.

The key moment came when Aberdeen’s Duk appeared to handle the ball before netting what many thought was a decisive goal.

VAR reviewed the incident, prompting discussion among pundits and supporters about whether the goal should have stood.

Des Roache, speaking on 67 Hail Hail, argued that the handball should have disallowed the goal. Similarly, former referee Dermot Gallagher offered his assessment of the controversial decision, adding weight to the debate.

Jamie McGrath Hints Duk Knew He Handled the Ball:

Aberdeen’s Jamie McGrath provided insight into the incident, revealing what happened immediately after Duk’s strike.

Speaking to the Daily Record, McGrath admitted that Duk’s reaction suggested he was aware of handling the ball.

McGrath told the Daily Record: “Dimi’s save was unbelievable but he has done that all season. We knew we would need him and he’d be called upon. Everything he did, he did so well.

“Even Duk at the end, it happened so quickly I was dreading it being handball, but it hit his chest. That just showed the character, everyone is willing to die for the three points,” McGrath said.

“Although you could tell from Duk’s body language that he thought he’d probably handled it.”

McGrath praised Aberdeen goalkeeper Dimi’s performance, calling his save earlier in the game “unbelievable” and noting how critical the squad’s defensive resilience had been.

“Topi Keskinen was brilliant for us, he really was an out-ball, and on another day we could maybe have gone 3-2 up,” he added.

With the draw behind them, Celtic must now concentrate on their midweek Champions League fixture against Atalanta. Brendan Rodgers will be determined to avoid another heavy defeat, following Celtic’s earlier loss to Borussia Dortmund.

Atalanta midfielder Ederson has made it clear that the Serie A side won’t take Celtic lightly, expecting a challenging encounter on Wednesday night.

Should the Hoops manage to secure at least a draw, it would provide a much-needed morale boost ahead of crucial home games in November against RB Leipzig and Club Brugge. A positive result in Italy could give Celtic momentum for the busy European schedule ahead.
