‘Three Points certain for Hammers?’ Man Utd suffer BAD NEWS as Key winger SUFFERS an Ankle Sprain injury and will be Unavailable against West Ham on Sunday afternoon

Manchester United have confirmed that Antony sustained an ankle sprain during the club’s Europa League draw with Fenerbahce on Thursday.

The Brazilian winger was introduced as a substitute in the 73rd minute, replacing Marcus Rashford. However, his involvement lasted just 16 minutes before he signalled to the bench, indicating he needed to come off due to injury.

Although the initial signs didn’t appear too concerning, Antony fell awkwardly, and a stretcher was required to carry him off the pitch. After the match, he was seen leaving Fenerbahce’s stadium on crutches, with his ankle supported by a protective boot.

Speaking to the club’s media, Erik ten Hag expressed his sympathy for Antony and promised an update on the player’s condition soon.

In a statement, United confirmed, “Erik ten Hag’s side will face West Ham without Antony, who was missing from Saturday’s training session due to an ankle sprain he picked up in the closing stages of the game against Fenerbahce.”

According to Manchester Evening News reporter Samuel Luckhurst, United are still evaluating the extent of Antony’s injury to determine how long he will be sidelined. However, the club is reportedly relieved that the issue is not as serious as first feared.

Meanwhile, there was positive news for United, with Bruno Fernandes and Jonny Evans both returning to training. The squad has been preparing at the Gaughan Group Stadium in East London ahead of their Premier League clash with West Ham on Sunday.

Fernandes was absent for the match against Fenerbahce due to suspension, while Evans missed out after sustaining a knock in last weekend’s dramatic comeback win over Brentford.

The Gaughan Group Stadium, home to League One side Leyton Orient, is just a short distance from the London Stadium, where United will aim to secure a crucial three points against the Hammers.
